Not to be super annoying, but I have to start this post by lamenting on the rapid passing of time. I honestly can’t believe that October is over and we only have two more months left of this year. I feel like I didn’t even get a chance to make 2018 New Year’s Resolutions, let alone accomplish them LOL!
Anyways, the end of the month means another “Monthly Mélange” blog post. This month has been a rather academic one for me. #MidtermSZN. After procrastinating on all my readings and barely doing any academic work besides attending my lectures in the month of September, I was hit with exam and exam this month. And of course now that the tests are over, it’s time to get started on final papers. Who else loves student life?!
In the midst of all the studying, I found time to visit New York where I shot lots of content for fall, including the photos in this post. I’ve loved spending this month wearing all my funky jackets that are too warm for still-summery September and too light for winter-like November and December.
With all the academic craziness and traveling, I did lose sight of my health and fitness a bit, turning to cookies and Dominos over protein packed meals and skipping one too many gym sessions. I definitely want to get back on the health train this month so to keep myself accountable, I’m giving myself a little pilates challenge for November! I’ve been doing pilates reformer for almost three years and it is hands down my favorite form of exercise (well, it’s tied with yoga). I haven’t done it since August though, so I got a monthly pass for November and signed up for 24 classes for the month (ie. six classes a week). Ambitious? Yes, definitely. But will I do it? Absolutely. I find that the only way to stick to exercise is to do something you really love and the reformer is something I absolutely adore. If you’ve never done it before, I recommend you try a class. In fact, I’ve never done this many classes in one month before, so I can’t wait to tell you how I get on with it!
I also feel like I should share what I’ve been watching lately because I mentioned it in the last “Monthly Mélange.” The truth is, I’ve been hooked on Netflix originals this month! I finally got around to watching the sixth season of Orange is the New Black and it made me remember why I love the show. It’s funny and smart with twists all the way through. I can’t wait for the next season, which is unfortunately the last! I also watched two Spanish language programs: Élite, a raunchy, teen drama that is Gossip Girl with a murderous twist, and Made in Mexico, a reality show that follows the lives of a group of upper class people in Mexico City. Both are such guilty pleasure watches, but, hey, at least they helped me learn some new Spanish words!
Hope you enjoyed reading about my month! I want to know what you’ve been up to, so leave me a note in the comments below. I can’t wait to chat!
