To follow up yesterday’s post about the current state of blogging, I thought that today I should share some of the blogs I love to read! The blogger gals I’m mentioning here seriously inspire me to write more and better. If you’ve never heard of them before, you should definitely go check them out now!
Fashion Slave by Sophie Milner
Sophie’s blog was one of the first that really made me seek out more blogs. She’s an excellent writer, rarely makes a typo, and infuses her honest point of view and relatable personality into everything she says. She doesn’t shy away from topics like dating, career, and mental health, which I think are important issues lots of people avoid to simply focus on the latest sales and what they’ve bought. Sophie also co-hosts an amazing podcast called “Keeping it Candid” with Millie Cotton, another digital content creator. It’s a must-listen for fun and relevant pop culture conversation.
The Little Plum by Chloe Plumstead
Another British blogging babe! Chloe focuses on mixing fashion imagery with personal, lifestyle-related prose. I’ve been struggling to find my blogging voice for a while and Chloe’s mantra motivated me to take the pictures I like (ie. focus on the clothes) and just write about whatever tickles my fancy.
Fashion Steele NYC by Monroe Steele
Like the two ladies above, Monroe posts personal essays, but she balances them perfectly with fashion-related posts. Her philosophy is to mix luxury, high street, AND thrifted clothing, a combination that obviously makes for great outfits and a unique perspective on style. Plus, she has a section on her site all about how to pitch to brands. Definitely a must-read for anyone looking to make their blogging game more professional.
Not Jess Fashion by Jessica Wang
I am quite honestly inspired by everything Jessica creates. In addition to killing the social media game with a dreamy and creative Instagram feed boasting over 500K followers, she posts regularly to her blog about style, travel, and most recently, the blogging industry. The latter is really what drew me to start reading her blog regularly. She is honest about all aspects of the influencing business, giving great tips about things like camera lenses, posing, and creating a brand. Plus, when you find out she is a married mom of two daughters, you’ll be even more blown away by her work ethic.
The Silk Sneaker by Shloka Narang
If I had to choose one adjective for Shloka, I’d pick consistent. Yes, she’s creative and personable, but what stands out most to be is that this girl posts EVERY weekday. Yes, that’s right: Five new posts a week. That is called taking your job seriously. She finds and shares really unique clothing items (often from e-tailers I’ve never heard of), so if you want something completely different head to Shloka’s blog to find it.
Hope you enjoyed reading and found a new blog to check out. Let me know who your favorite bloggers are in the comments below!
