Plaid skirts seem like such a quotidian garment, but for the past few years, my wardrobe has strangely been void of one. No matter how much I wish I was a cool New York City fashion girl, I am secretly just a really preppy New England girl, so this absence has not gone unnoticed and I have been on constant high alert for a classic plaid skirt.
My plaid skirt senses started tingling when one of my favorite bloggers and Instagrammers, Sara of Collage Vintage, posted a picture of herself wearing a plaid skirt in Oxford Circus. She posted her picture on a Thursday and the next day, as soon I finished classes for the week, I nearly tripped over myself on my way to Zara to get the same skirt.
I debuted the item with a beautiful red satin button down shirt in the Wesminster area of London. I think my outfit suited my surroundings perfectly… largely because my blouse is the exact same shade of red as the iconic London telephone booths and double-decker buses. The multi-patterned plaid definitely kept me from blending in completely and I can’t wait to keep styling this item for the rest of the season. Now that I finally have a plaid skirt after so long, there is no way I’m not going to show it off every opportunity I get.
P.S. My plaid skirt is not the only one in stores right now, so check back on my blog next week because I’ll be posting an edit with all my favorite plaid pieces of the season!

What I’m Wearing: Shirt // Skirt // Tights // Shoes (old from Zara)
You most definitely could not have described my life better, “I am secretly just a really preppy New England girl”. We do not wear uniforms at my school, but I kind of wish that we did (of course they would have to be as cute as that skirt) … but you get my drift. Love that whole preppy style 🙂

Hahaha, same! I never had to wear a uniform, but I would not have minded wearing plaid and button downs all the time! Thanks for reading, Isabella 😊
That look is so cute! I love the plaid skirt.
